Description
The Justice Stake is an object of justice from the Fon and Yoruba traditions. It settles disputes and punishes lies, calling on the ancestors - Aï, Ogun and Shango - to bring the truth to light. Carved from a formidable tree and consecrated with sacred cowries and incantations, it is used to confront an adversary acting in bad faith. It is the traditional court of ancient times.
